Description
We are a north west based company and can supply you with anything from an experienced slinger / rigger to a complete package deal for a particular project. We also carry out stripout / dismantling works, crane hire, contract lifting, warehouse / storage service and hiab hire. We carry fully comprehensive insurance cover for all of the above works and are an ISO 9002 registered company, when carrying out a contract lift we can provide appointed persons / method statements, risk assessments and documentation to comply with current legislation, we are members of the British Safety Council and employ an external safety consultant to ensure we comply and keep up to date with regards to ever changing health and safety aspects and issues. We specialise in plant / ahu lifting and if you have any city centre lifts we can liase with local authorities to arrange for road closures etc for siting mobile cranes. All our employees are CITB / CPCS trained / qualified in their respective duties, if you have requirements for any of the above we can carry out a free of charge, no obligation site inspection / survey. I hope you find this of interest but should you require any further information or assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.

Armquest was founded in 1989 and ran for quite some years side by side with it's sister company D&D Harvey who specialised in haulage. It was originally formed to provide craneage and labour to erect / dismantle bailey bridges and move and install heavy machinery, both of which are still carried out to date, along with other services that our continued expansion has provided us with the opportunity to cater for. We appear to have found a niche in the market in the fact that we specialise in lifting and moving equipment (ie ahu's, chillers etc) for all the main mechanical contractors (ie Haden Young, Emcor, Inviron) to name but a few and a lot of smaller ones too. We currently employ approximately 20 people and continue to expand when the appropriate opportunities arise. We have invested heavily in training our workforce and have staff available to advise you who have had many years experience in the crane and associated industries. We have large premises on wardley industrial estate in Swinton, Manchester and are only 15 minutes away from the city centre.

ACHS can provide cranes / hiabs to suit most hirers requirements either from our own resources or from our colleagues in the industry. The hirer / user must ensure any lifting complies with the current regulations and work is carried out in accordance with the HSE guidelines. It is the customers responsibility to provide all the neccesary documentation i.e. method statements and risk assessments to enable the work to be carried out safely and in accordance with BS 7121, loler and puwer legislation. All our operators carry CPCS cards to prove their competence, all our plant and lifting equipment carries current certification and is checked by an independent insurance inspector on a regular basis. Armquest can provide a free of charge / no obligation inspection service to ensure the correct crane is selected for each operation, but it is the hirers responsibility to take care of the rest, this service is most suited to the experienced hirer who also have personnel with the appropriate qualifications to organise and control a lifting operation. A firm was recently fined £250,000 for carrying out an unsafe lifting operation, make sure this does not happen to you. We pride ourselves in being able to provide a safe and cost effective solution to almost any lifting requirement and welcome the opportunity to quote for any work you may have. In a nutshell there is no lift too small or too large for ACHS to undetake so come and join our growing list of satisfied customers.
